How Much Money Are Teachers Paid?
The Census Bureau recently released a detailed infographic that tries to place into perspective the economic demands of the public educational system.
Synopsis of Teacher Numbers
There are over 19 million public sector employees. Of that 19 million, 57% are educators. This figure dwarfs all other public sectors combined. The vast majority of educators are working at the elementary and the secondary levels: over 11 million educators.
The average monthly pay for full time employees rose $1, 010 in 10 years; That works out to an average of $100 per year raising from $3, 268 in March of 2001 to $4278 in March of 2011.
The average monthly pay for full time educators in 2011 ranges from a low of $2500 per month to a high of $6, 500 per month.
