Simple Homemade Cheese Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp flour
¾ cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheese
Directions:
Melt the butter in a sauce pan over medium high heat. Stir so it does not burn. Add flour and stir until it makes a paste. Whisk in milk, and continue to whisk until it thickens to your desired thickness for the cheese sauce—I like it a little thicker, especially because I use it for mac and cheese.

To get my kids to eat more veggies, I like to stir in some pureed carrots, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, or whatever other veggies I have around the house. The veggies mix in very well, and the kids still eat this cheese sauce, even if it’s a little green!

Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese. If you want it cheesier, then add more shredded cheese.

I use this cheese sauce for mac and cheese, a dipping sauce, or for cheese sandwiches (yes, it’s very tasty with bread). Hope you enjoy!
